The Cochrane Timmy Overdrive Pedal is famed for its high-quality sound, versatility, and expansive tone-shaping options. Originating from Paul Cochrane's Tim design, this pedal features a unique, open-sounding and uncompressed drive tone, along with superior EQ settings. Although the large enclosure size was not popular amongst some players, the Timmy distinguished itself by being able to serve as a powerful boost without needing additional pedals.

Revered as the first "transparent" boutique overdrive, the Timmy is shaped less like a Tube Screamer, lacking the prominent mid-range hump, and providing far less compression at lower gain levels. With the clipping options set to minimum, this pedal can be used to drive tube amps into valve saturation.
